[VIDEO BELOW] Police Chief Rob Lawson, who served on the Lakewood Police Department for 35 years – including 10 as chief – was honored today at a luncheon hosted by the Lakewood Vaad and Lakewood community leaders.
The Chief didn’t want a walkout ceremony, and so the Vaad felt compelled to show their appreciation in their own way.
At an event held at BMG CEO Rabbi Aaron Kotler’s office, community leaders gathered to thank the Chief for his dedicated years of service, calling him a true friend of Lakewood.
Addressesing the crowd, was Rabbi Blech, Rabbi Schenkolevski, Rabbi Aaron Kotler, Mayor Miller and Committeeman Lichtenstein.
The Chief has reached his mandatory retirement age of 65. Gregory Meyer was named as the new Chief, and will take over on August 1.
