A Lakewood resident who forgot to lock his door when he went for a walk with his wife on Friday night announced jokingly that any burglars should leave his home, and indeed there was one who followed his instructions.
The resident says he went on a walk Friday night with his wife but mistakenly left his door unlocked. So when he cam home and realized his mistake, he jokingly announced, “if you’re in the house you better leave”.
To his horror, a burglar did just that.
The resident says he heard someone unlock his door and run from his home.
Three cell phones were missing after the burglar left, and today they were found in the laundry hamper – apparently dumped by the burglar when he was startled, the victim said.
