The accident occurred in the Spruce Street area around 9:20 AM.

The child, said to be an 8-year-old girl, sustained significant injuries, police say, and she was transported by Hatzolah Paramedics to JSUMC.

Spruce Street is shut between Sharon Street and Marc Drive for the investigation. There is limited access between Route 9 and Vine Street on Spruce Street.

  1. Before a child is about 9-10years old their vision does not have the capability to judge distance and velocity accurately.parents need to understand this, even a responsible child before that age is not capable of crossing 100 percent safely. Many prayers for the girl

  2. Something needs to be done to alleviate traffic on this corner, backed up drivers, uncrossable street it is a recipe for disaster.

    Maybe no left turns onto Spruce.

  3. Some of these streets (such as Vine, Arlington and many more) must be opened up to traffic to alleviate the unbearable traffic in the entire pine street area…
