BEWARE: Man reportedly uses toy in attempt to lure Lakewood child

lpd crime scene 16One neighborhood in Lakewood is urging its area residents to use caution after a man reportedly attempted to lure a child to his car using a toy, TLS has learned.

Neighbors tell TLS the approximately 7-year-old boy was playing outside his Albert Avenue area home around 5 PM on Monday afternoon when a man drove up and called the boy to his vehicle, offering him a toy. The boy luckily ran off.

“People need to ensure that their children know how to react to such people,” a neighborhood warning read.

The man is described as a white male, wearing a short sleeve neon yellow shirt, and driving a white car. A make or model wasn’t available.

Police were notified of the incident.

  1. So today he wore yellow, tomorrow it’ll be something else. Wonderful that the parents taught the child, let’s make sure we keep our eyes peeled for the troublesome behavior, regardless of the clothing (including white button-down shirt, suit, hat, chas v’sholom).
