Tens of thousands of people are expected to attend weekend concerts at the Blue Claws stadium, and it’s expected to turn into a traffic nightmare in the area.
The event begins tomorrow, September 30, and ends Sunday October 2.

Well look at the bright side, think about how much the township is going to benefit financially from hosting this concert. Which will almost directly benefit the community.
No different then any other day–no one is or should be surprised by traffic here
I’m wondering if you can explain how this will directly benefit me at all.
I pay lots of money in taxes on my small house. The streets near my house are such a disaster that I told my kids instead of waiting on long lines in the amusement park on Chol hamoed, we can just take a drive down spruce street. My garbage can has a hole and keeps getting dead animals and the twp refuses to replace it. I pay for bussing. I waited three days for my street to get plowed last winter. So what do I get for it??

Will Lakewood make ANY money from this concert? OR will the stadium, and its owners, make the money? Who will be paying for the police overtime? What does the lease for the stadium say about how much money Lakewood gets from the various shows, concerts, car shows, boat shows, etc.? How much does Lakewood get from the parking charge?

This rock concert was not allowed back to Oak Ridge Park in Clark. isnt that a pretty good indication this wont lead to anything good for crying out loud they are serving alcohol and may I remind you against the former chief of police Robert Lawson advice. This will bring nothing but destruction to our town we gain nothing in taxes even the food trucks are not locals. oh and best part it runs for 3 days and every day it only starts at 2 pm what do you think 50,000-80,000 people will be doing all day till 2???!!!!
maybe the stadium should pay for road improvements….
The event manager is paying for police to work the event – that cost is not coming out of the township budget. The money for that will come out of their profits just like every other operating expense.
Relax people this event is not going to be in the town, it will be at the ball park. There is plenty of parking and the Parkway is right there. There is no need for anyone to go near the town.
An Idea – the venue pays for the police working the event.
to just sayin: plenty of people drive there every day. You know how many people from our community live there? PLENTY! I have to drive down New Hampshire Ave. before Shabbos and I’m not looking forward to any more traffic.

This is a three-day HEAVY METAL rock concert. Oh yes, and do not forget the Lake Terrace event on Sunday.
Don’t think that this is going to be a Kumbaya -Let’s Hold Hands – Flower In The Rifle Event.

I fail to understand the issue with people living around the stadium and the noise, etc. It was there well before any of the developments were built and it is definitely NOT hard to see. Having any kind of knowledge about stadiums, one would come to realize that they still need to operate and maintain their business in the off season.
Why is there no complaining where there are boat shows and other kinds of carnivals? What about the flea market they do? What about the traffic on days of actual ballgames?
Why do you think Lakewood is responsible for paying for extra police during the offseason and not during regular season? Newsflash–the stadium is responsible for paying the township for any extra police presence that is required EVERYTIME it is required.
If you don’t like what a stadium could potentially bring to the area, don’t move in to the area-easy as that. Just because some developer thinks its a great place to live doesn’t mean your person and family moral compass should take a back-seat. If you feel what they bring in to substain their business in the off season goes against your beliefs, etc don’t move there.
If you actually sit back and think about it, it was actually very considerate of them to host it when most of the Lakewood community will not be impacted by the “extra” traffic.

@shalom: may we be as blessed with the same weather for the concert as we are for sukkot. One shouldn’t beg for blessings as an inconvenience to others.
And while money might not go to the community, it will go towards local businesses, which can help local owners and possibly give the town money through taxes.
