A cyclist was struck by a vehicle and seriously injured this evening, officials says.
The incident occurred shortly before 8 PM at the intersection of New Hampshire Avenue and Oak Street.
An official tells TLS it seems the cyclist may have been struck by two vehicles.
A witness related the following to TLS.
“I was waiting for my daughter at SkyZone and heard the impact and I saw him get clipped a second time while running up.. and then I was able to run towards the oncoming vehicles and divert the traffic as he was about to be run over head on, while face down– and then finally stop the traffic before it became worse.”
The patient was transported to Jersey Shore University Medical Center with head and other injuries, sources said.
The area was shut down for an investigation.

Clearly there is an issue with pedestrians on New Hampsire. This is the second serious incident in a week. Something needs to be done to ensure the safety of the people.
Yes people need to use more common sense! People drive like too fast, crazy & distracted!
People drive fast and its very dark. Even if the the cyclist had proper reflectors its very hard to be seen at night
The man who ran out initally may have saved the victims life.
there are no sidewalks or bike lanes on this 4 lane road. The township should install either of the two
