The Moadim L’simcha event, which provides Lakewood families with Yom Tov necessities at wholesale prices, was held today ahead of the Yomim Tovim season.
Close to 1,500 families were serviced at the event, held at the DPW headquarters.
Event coordinators thanked Committeeman and police officials for helping coordinate the event, which had to be moved to another location this year due to an event at the stadium.
The event is held twice a year, before Sukkos and before Pesach.

does anyone ever consider how this affects the local stores? i understand that mechanchim need a break however who is carrying them a whole year?
What an incredible job the organizers did!! It was so smooth and well run. Thank you!!
In reply to above commentator, many ppl can eke by all year but Yomtov throws them for a loop. Buying items at wholsale is what saves them (me included) from going under. I wouldn’t be able to shop for these items in the local stores. ..
To #1: Parnassa is from Hashem. The stores will make as much as much as they are suppose to make regardless. This is a huge mitzva and i am happy for the families that can save a few dollars.
For some reason all stores managed with Moadim around for many many years. They are struggling now since all year round competition came to town.
And fact check, credit is almost non existent in this town.
If things would not be so overpriced it would not be so nessisary
With all the competition there are so many amazing sales going on you could save just as much or more than Moadim L’Simcha is offering. You just have to go from store to store for the savings.
Annon most of us do not have the time to go from store to store. That is a sick way to live. ML. Providing a necessary soultion. Also they have 100% kosher environment no Mexican woman.
to #7 do you have a cleaning lady? the answer is most likely yes and she is most likely Mexican.
Also anytime you step out of your house the environment is not kosher so does that mean you should never go out.
I feel we owe hakaros hatov to all the stores who carry us through the whole year! is it fair to forget them and stop supporting them when yom tov comes? the prices are equal or better them moadim sometimes
also i can understand to help the mechanchim, however there are alot of people that were there who are just trying to save a few bucks
is that fair??????
