Two Linden Police Officers who captured the New York and New Jersey bombing suspect following a shootout, were honored this evening by the NY/NJ Crime Clinic.
The officers, Mark Kahana and Angel Padilla, found Ahmad Rahami sleeping outside a bar in Linden, NJ. Rahami told police he was homeless, before opening fire. Kahana and Padilla returned fire. Padilla was shot, but saved by his bullet proof vest.
The Crime Clinic recognizes worthy Police Officers, Public Officials, and Citizens who have shown outstanding performance in the prevention of crime, apprehension and prosecution of criminals.
Family and friends – including from Lakewood – were in attendance as the officers were honored and presented with a plaque.
