A fire at an assisted living facility this morning prompted the evacuation of over 100 residents, Jackson officials said.
The fire at the Bella Terrace facility started around 7AM, and the evacuees were temporarily transported to the Jackson Liberty High School.
Lakewood, Brick and other surrounding townships provided mutual aid.
Nobody was injured in the fire, which reportedly started in the attic.

Heartfelt thanks to all that were involved in this effort. Working to help and save the elderly from a fire is challenging enough… add to that the treacherous weather one has to really have a sense of appreciation for what these firefighters do to help and save others…
Good work guys and gals especially with the weather conditions. Thanks.
