URGENT: Issue for Kohanim Davening at Monmouth Medical Center Northern Campus Shul

mmc-tlsAn issue has arisen for Kohanim Davening at the Shul at Monmouth Medical Center Northern Campus, Rabbi Kaszirer of Bikur Cholim of Lakewood tells TLS.

The Bikur Cholim Shul Monmouth Medical Center Northern was recently moved to ‘Akerman 29’, which is in the close proximity of the morgue, posing a Halachic issue for Kohanim.

Rabbi Forcheimer’s Bais Din was contacted, and two Dayonim went down to investigate the issue.

Efforts are being made after Yom Tov to circumvent the issue, but currently, Koahnim can only use the Shul witht he following two conditions.

  1. Entrance to the Shul should be made through the Akerman entrance, and not through the hospital.
  2. The double doors up the hall from Shul need to be closed.
