Lakewood Immediate Care: Free screening results show approximately 30% had high blood pressure, above-normal BMI

The stats are in from the wellness screenings done by Lakewood Immediate Care in conjunction with Gourmet Glatt during their Eat Healthy Month.

“Close to 30% of those tested had high blood pressure and didn’t even know it,” said Lakewood Immediate Care. “In addition, 35% had a BMI (body Mass Index) above the normal range. This data strongly suggests the need for appropriate and intermittent screening and follow up on abnormal findings. Even if your relatively young and ‘feel fine’ it is imperative to have an annual physical exam done by your primary care physician.”

The center is located at the Gourmet Glatt plaza, 1700 Madison Avenue.

  1. Please, everyone make sure you get screened for high blood pressure, even if you think you are not someone that is in the risk group. I found out during a routine check up that I had extremely high blood pressure and I am not a person in the likely groups that would have it. I am now on medicine and it is under control. Don’t wait until you have a stroke or heart attack to get checked out.
