OEM Coordinator Robert Lawson has announced today the approval of an additional 10 participants to join the Lakewood C.E.R.T. training course beginning tomorrow, Wednesday January 18 due to a higher than anticipated request for slots.
This news is very welcome to course coordinators who were scrambling to respond to all those requesting to join the current C.E.R.T. course.
This year’s CERT training participants will receive training by a line-up of the State of NJ’s top emergency responders C.E.R.T. instructors. The course is very hands on and will include disaster response, utility controls, fire safety, disaster medical operations, light search and rescue, and disaster simulation and other very real techniques that can be used to save lives. Sessions will take place in actual emergency response facilities throughout the area to familiarize trainees in real response circumstances.
The course begins tomorrow evening, January 18th and continues on Monday and Wednesday evenings until graduation. If you would like to try for a slot in the CERT course, email [email protected] for an application form BEFORE THE END OF TODAY.
