PHOTOS: Haz-Mat, Bomb Squad called in for a suspicious item in Industrial Park [UPDATED]

The Haz-Mat team and New Jersey State Police Bomb Squad were called in to Lakewood this morning for a suspicious item in the Industrial Park, officials say. 

The suspicious paint-type can was located near the recycling center, and its contents are unknown.

Lakewood’s Fire Department and Police Department are on scene awaiting the arrival of Berkley’s Haz-Mat team and Bomb Squad.

UPDATED: 11:00 AM: The item was deemed safe.

  1. It could have been a very dangerous call. You just never know anymore, it could be on your front porch or it could be in a store or it could be on a street corner. Kudos for the LPD, LFD, Berkeley HazMat & NJSP Bomb Squad for keeping everyone safe today.
