We regret to inform you of the Petirah of Chawnaw Hershel Kahn Z”L, who was Niftar last night following an illness.
Chawnaw Hershel Z”L, approximately 60, resided in the Forest Park neighborhood for approximately 15 years, and worked at a local supermarket, served as a Mashgiach at a food establishment, and also substituted in local Chedarim.
He suffered from an illness for approximately a year, and was Niftar last night.
He leaves behind just two sisters, who were devoted and always at his side throughout his illness.
Friends of Chawnaw Hershel Z”L are asking the Tzibbur to make an effort to attend his Levaya.
The Levaya will be taking place at 3 PM today, at the 7th Street Chapel.

See here his ‘Handbook on Good Medos’ he wrote in 2005.
Nebech. I knew him from many yrs. He was a ba’al teshuva who was a true mevakesh, and constantly growing in yiddishkeit. Yehi zichro Boruch.

I just read the handbook.
So many nice things. May his Neshama have an Aliya.
May his family have a Nechoma.
Did he work in meat department in the coop?
Yes, for a short while.
For the few years that I got to know him he taught me so much. His humbleness and yiras shamayim were unbelievable. His benching was an amazing sight to see. Every word he so carefully said out loud. May his Neshama be an aliyah.
P.so. He did work in the meat department at the coop.
Mistake instead of it saying girls suppose to say yiras
we knew him and visited him on a constant basis, a true mevakesh and yarai shamayim, a role model for all of us
