A young Israeli burn victim’s wish came true, when he go to visit the Chief of the Lakewood Police Department.
The young boy, who R”L lost his legs and hand to a horrific fire, is in the United States for treatment. While here, he told those caring for him that his wish was to visit the “Rosh Hamistara” (the Police Chief).
And immediately, his wish was granted.
Coordinated by Lakewood Bikur Cholim and Askonim, the boy was brought to the Lakewood Police Department headquarters, where he was warmly welcomed by Police Chief Greg Meyer and his team.
During the visit, the boy got to tour the dispatch room, training room and other rooms designated only for police officials.
“We were blown away the way the Chief and the Department treated this young boy and did whatever they can to make this a truly memorable event for him,” one of the Askonim said. “It was really emotional.”
To top off this amazing visit, the Chief gave the boy a police cap, a t-shirt, sweatshirt and other souvenirs he could take back home with him.
