Statement from Attorney of Rabbi Eismann: We are confident that both SCHI and Rabbi Eisemann will be exonerated

In response to the indictment of Rabbi Eismann of SCHI today, his attorney released the following statement to TLS:

Statement of Attorney Jeff Ifrah on behalf of the School:

Since 1995 The School for Children with Hidden Intelligence (SCHI) has provided a superior level of services to meet the unique needs of severely-disabled, medically fragile, and socially-emotionally challenged children and young adults. We are disappointed that the State of New Jersey has chosen to utilize limited taxpayer resources to proceed with this baseless investigation of SCHI and our dedicated Director Osher Eisemann. The State’s claims allege no criminal intent, nor that the funds in question were used for the Director’s personal gain. SCHI continues to support our Director and we are confident that both SCHI and Rabbi Eisemann will be exonerated at the conclusion of this investigation.

Statement of Attorney Lee Vartan on behalf of Director Osher Eisemann:

The School for Children with Hidden Intelligence (SCHI) and I have been targeted by the State of New Jersey for an alleged misuse of funds. In providing educational and therapeutic services to children with disabilities as varied as autism, Down syndrome, ADHD, muscular dystrophy, Spina bifida, and cerebral palsy, among others, our main goal at SCHI has always been to provide every student with a chance to exceI. I have never taken any SCHI funds for my personal use, and I strongly deny there was any ill intent in the use of SCHI funds. I look forward to the complete exoneration of both SCHI and myself in this investigation.

  1. Reb Osher is a Tzadik he has from his own accord helped so many people with their peckle in so many different situations I don’t know ANYONE who was moser nefesh for another person like Reb Osher. Hashem should give him and his family koach to get through this nisoyon unscathed!

  2. Oy vey – This is a Yid ah Tazaddik, as anyone who knows him can attest. I’m sure this whole thing will disappear, and very, very soon – And R’ Osher will come out 100% exonerated from these baseless claims.

  3. Shame on those making baseless accusations. Rabbi Eismann is a wonderful individual that developed a much needed instuituon for the community. I hope this matter will be resolved immediately!

  4. We are so happy to hear this news! There is no one more selfless then R’ Eisemann. We appreciate all that he does for our son and the tzibbur. We have all been davening for a yeshua. Thank you

  5. To Schi parent: looks like you misread the article. It is not good news, it means they are (wrongly) accusing him and now he needlessly needs to spend energy and money focused on fighting these charges instead of focusing 100% on his vitally important work.

  6. I am privileged to be at the helm of a similar moisad hachesed.
I have over many years had occasion to work closely with Horav Osher Eisenman.
His mesiras nefessh, his ahavas Yisroel, his devotion to a fellow yid in pain has no bounds.i have full confidence that he will iyh be exonerated..

  7. The judge in this case together with that judge from rubashkin. will both get there pay back ich bin zeh nisht mekaneh!there’s a G-D up there – both these individuals did soo much FOR OTHERS like he said above a modern blood libel

  8. To Its a Very Sad Day- while I agree with you regarding the judge in the Rubashkin case, this case hasn’t even gone before a judge yet! Indictment just means to bring charges. As for this being a blood libel, it may even be worse- from what I’ve heard, there may be an individual with a vendetta against him who started this entire blood libel by making false accusations to authorities about wrongs that didn’t exist. Otherwise known as a moiser.

  9. The question shouldn’t be ,weather he took money or not.it’s just alarming who the state picks on.you can’t deny that schi is one of the most important institutions in NJ, That a public school can only dream of accomplishing what schi does. So instead let the state stop picking on such institutions, and instead focus on getting real criminals off the street! Guess we have to start realizing that we need moshiach, because the gvt.[even if they attend our fundraisers,] are not our friends.

  10. to #16 …. whatever.
I have known Rabbi Eisenman for about 12 years, he is a giant of a man. the fact is there is a political interest for the prosecutor to give a “Rabbi” a hard time. it gets him air time in the news for outlets like APP, a regular der shpigel. Very sad that he has to use valuable resources for this total (moderated). He lives a very basic lifestyle and has no interest in self enrichment. He will come out squeaky clean. When he gets exonerated , guaranteed the APP will put the verdict on pg 32.

  11. just another way for state to set a way for venomous enemies of ours to spew their hatred. This claim is baseless.

Looks like Cristie has some beef with us. Cutting funding for private school security? Now this?

  12. Rabbi Eisemann does not do a thing for himself.he leads a simple lifstyle, a selfless person who is always doing for others
we should all daven for him that he should be exonerated soon, so he can focus on his mosod and the good that he does for us and our Children.

  13. Why can’t we just wait until all of the facts come out at the trial, before passing judgements. I hope for the good of this town that there is nothing here, but we still need to wait and have an open mind for the actual facts in this case.

    • There is a din that we have to be dan a tzadik lkaf zchus, even if there was a basis for a suspicion. Here it is not at all clear that there is any basis.
