BREAKING: Lakewood burglary suspect turns himself in; Police credit TLS and social media

A man suspected of burglarizing a Lakewood Shul and school, has turned himself in – thanks to the story on TLS and social media once again put to good use.

“Last week after posting a photo of an unidentified man burglarizing a Forest Avenue synagogue, we received several leads from the public who saw the photo on The Lakewood Scoop as well as our Department Facebook page,” Detective Lieutenant Greg Staffordsmith said.

“These tips led to the identification of 35 year old Donald Ullery of Pine Beach NJ. Ullery, who was also aware that his picture had been posted, turned himself in around 8 pm last night.”

Further investigation by Detective Chase Messer resulted not only in charges of burglary and theft to the synagogue, but he was also able to link Ullery to another April 15th burglary, in which a school administrative office located on Third Street was broken into.

In addition, it was learned that Donald Ullery was staying at a nearby hotel at the time of the burglaries and subsequent days after. A search of the room yielded evidence pertaining to the crimes.
