Continued growth at the Special Children’s Center: 12th class open in their famous Sunday Funday Program

[COMMUNICATED] Never Ending Growth in The Special Children Center; Center Runs on Love. As the Lakewood community continues to grow, so does the love of The Special Children Center.

This week The Center opened its 12th class in their famous Sunday Funday Program. 12 classes full of happiness and structured fun every single week. Their extraordinary volunteers follow the warm and professional lead of its devoted director, Shaini Hornig.

Shaini relates, ‘The first time Sara* came to the Sunday program , her mother called an hour after she dropped her off choking up with tears, “I’m normal, I’m just like everyone else! I’m in Target on a Sunday morning! I haven’t done this in years!!!” Sara’s mother finally had the ‘Sunday’ most mothers rely on and Sara had the wonderful experience of a Sunday well spent with her friends!

This is just one simple example of making life possible for families of children with special needs!

I might be slightly prejudiced But I personally think that all of Lakewood [old Lkwd, new so called Lkwd, ] the whole town runs on love, All of you that run the center and other organizations RIBONO SHEL OLAM should give you healthy good years and you should be able to continue all the CHESED that you do Amein, Good Shabbos Lakewood,

  2. You very obviously never experienced the special work that the center really does. But seeing it Bubbie Zelda wouldn’t make you prejudiced you’d actually believe it and know it!! They are one of a kind! Keep up the great work

I’ve heard so much about center but until you actually see it, so many children with so many different impairmanets able to have fun smile and give their parents the much needed break they need on all those BUSY OFF DAYS makes you cry tears of love !!! Bh we have a town where there is so much chessed may Moshiach come speedily in our days and their will no more be the need of center!!!

  4. To those who work tirelessly to fundraise to keep center going, to keep the smiles on the children who have it hard, and keep the smiles on their parents faces!! Kol hakavod!!!!!! Hashem sees what you are doing !

  5. Center is amazeing there are NO words to describe center, but Love. These children need a lot of love to help them grow. Center gives them the love and care they need and deserve.
