Lakewood Township covers cost to restore LHS football team

Tonight at the Township Committee meeting the Lakewood Football Team had their program restored, thanks to the generosity of Mayor Coles and the Township committee.

Michael Inzelbuch appeared at the meeting in his capacity as resident of Lakewood, and proud graduate of Lakewood High School (class of 1983) with more than 40 students, coaches and support staff. Superintendent Laura Winters was also present.

The football team players and their coaches spoke with the Mayor and Committee members and presented their credentials including :

1-More than 7 graduating seniors who received partial and full scholarships to universities and colleges throughout the United States;

2- Several Junior players (rising seniors ) who have already been awarded scholarships to such places as Temple University in Philadelphia

Inzelbuch, the Coaches and players asked for approximately $84,000.00, which the Mayor and Committee members assured them the Township would immediately provide.
