[COMMUNICATED] We come to you today to speak on behalf of one thousand special young people.
These one thousand people lost a parent at a young age. For some it was cancer that took them away, others were victims of terror. Their families & homes were devastated.
These one thousand people are living in poverty. They have all struggled to get by, wondering when they will eat their next meal. They are known in their neighborhoods and communities as someone to pity. It has been humiliating and painful.
One thousand people have one last thing in common: They got married this year, with the help of Rav Chaim Kanievsky, Kupat Ha’Ir, and donations from people like you. This month, 27 orphan brides & grooms have been hand-selected as having especially tragic stories of grief & poverty. Once this month is completed, the Kupat Ha’Ir Orphan Wedding initiative will have b’Ezrat Hashem married off one thousand Israeli orphans.
Rav Chaim Kanievsky has said that all those who give to help these 27 orphans of Tammuz, it is as if they married off all one thousand of the last year. He has said that all donors to this campaign should be ‘blessed a thousand times’, and if you add your name here you will be prayed for by the Rav personally on shabbos morning.
Rav Kanievsky, Kupat Ha’Ir, and one thousand people need your help to make this dream a reality. Please open your heart to the pain of these brave young souls. Their parents will not be with them at their wedding, but you can be.
