A motorcyclist in Lakewood was seriously injured after colliding with a vehicle, and being thrown hundreds of feet, officials say, according to preliminary reports on scene.
The accident occurred on MLK Drive shortly after 10 PM, and left debris sprawled along MLK Drive.
The motorcyclist was reportedly conscious after the accident, but suffered multiple serious injuries, officials told TLS. He was transported with paramedics to Jersey Shore University Medical Center.
Lakewood’s Traffic Safety Division is investigating.
We wish everyone well. Martin Luther is so poorly lit it is impossible to see on that road. Thank God this does not happen more often you cannot see on this street at night. Time to add more street lights ASAP
Correction: I would not call his injuries serious.I was there and saw him.
I would call it ” badly bruised, and banged up and was taken to the hospital to make sure there are no serious injuries”
He could have suffered internal injuries that would not be visible to bystanders. Let’s hope that is not the case.
thats why I said that he was taken to he hospital to make sure there is no serious damage
How could he have been thrown hundreds of feet and still be conscious? This guy should thank his lucky stars.
Replying to neighbor:
I’ve been In this situation before…
You can’t say just from looking at someone that the injuries weren’t serious.
Internal injuries, which you can’t see from looking at someone (unless you’re a doctor) could be life threatening.
” and being thrown hundreds of feet, officials say,” — one of the drivers MUST have been SPEEDING if he was thrown hundreds of feet. MLK is a 25 mph zone, isn’t it??? Who got a ticket???
