Lakewood Police Chief approves officers’ beards for another month

With such great feedback for a great cause, Lakewood Police Chief Greg Meyer has approved for the police officers to keep their beards for another month, PBA President Mark Zwebiec tells TLS.

“Between the amount of positive feedback the Chief has received, and the amount we’re going to be able to give, it’s a no-brainer,” Zwebiec says.

The PBA President says the Movember project raised over $2,000, and the money will be donated to a prostate cancer charity.

For December, each officer will need to pay $31 to keep their beards, Zwebiec says.

  1. It’s for a great cause, Chief Meyer should keep it going for as long as anyone will participate. Plus they look tougher, I bet the crime rate will go down. Haha. Good job LPD, thank you for keeping lakewood safe.
