JUST IN – PHOTOS: Gov. Murphy says “Today, we’re turning the page” on Medical Marijuana

Governor Murphy today announced New Jersey is moving forward on Medical Marijuana.

He started, “For eight years, medical marijuana has been difficult to access in New Jersey. Today, we’re turning the page. A fairer New Jersey means expanding access to medical marijuana for patients in need.

“Medical marijuana is used to treat chronic and debilitating pain, epilepsy, glaucoma, PTSD, ALS, side effects of cancer treatment, side effects of HIV/AIDS, Crohn’s disease, multiple sclerosis, and other painful illnesses. We will not deny people compassionate care any longer.”

  1. The majority of research on medical MJ comes out of Israel and is quite credible. States with MMJ have seen lower rates of opiate use, overdoses and abuse. For our veterans who suffer from PTSD it provides controlled relief. Kudos to the gov for being open minded and giving those who suffer from chronic pain yet another option that doesn’t include high priced pharmaceuticals. A jar of CBD capsules costs about $30 for 60 capsules. For those using the Reefer Madness argument, please understand that most people using MMJ for medical reasons depend on high CBD content and low (sometimes zero) THC content. Before you condemn this move, please do some research.

  2. “…we will not deny compassionate care any longer” Tell that to the family of a DUI victim. Colorado’s road fatalities skyrocketed after legalizing marijuana. Whoever endorsed Governor Pothead, should be ashamed.
