PHOTOS: Lakewood School District hosts its first Student-Athlete Luncheon

More than 250 student athletes and staff gathered at the Lakewood High School today for a festive and working luncheon in honor of the district’s  athletic teams, and the pressing need for the State to adequately fund Lakewood schools.

Joining the event, were State Senator Robert Singer, Committeeman Albert Ackerman, Township Manager Thomas Henshaw, Board President Moshe Bender, Board member Moshe Tendler, Lakewood coaches and  staff, and General Counsel Michael Inzelbuch.

Senator Singer, students and staff, as well as Board General Counsel Michael Inzelbuch spoke about the necessity of sports for Lakewood students, and how it promotes academic achievement and scholarships.
