PHOTOS: State repaves parts of Route 9 in Lakewood due to dozens of potholes, thousands of dollars in vehicle damage

With dozens of potholes causing thousands of dollars in damages this past week, the state today repaved a portion of Route 9.

Given the warmer weather, the state was able to use the pothole killer on some areas, and fully repaved others between Central Avenue and Cross Street.

Immediately after last week’s complaints, the state temporarily fixed the issue with cold patches.

  1. Hope everyone enjoys the repaving, you do know that it was paved with the money they were going to use to widen it. Upgrades to the highway will be on hold for a long time now. The State is not going to dig up all this new blacktop. not for a long time.

  2. What’s with that big pothole at the junction of Main Street and Clifton Avenue. Vehicles making a left turn onto Clifton from Main Street don’t always notice that pothole before its too late..
Who can we reach out to?

  3. To all the workers that were repaving Route 9 today I would like to thank you for your amazing job. Lakewood police department- thank you for always being there for us. I am proud to be a lakewood resident.

  4. Guess what guys I would suggest that every single one of you check your tires for bubbles. Even if it’s not flat it’s hazardous to have bubble in your tire which is usually caused by potholes. This might have been hundreds of thousands of dollars ? ?
