I’ve been a customer with Verizon Wireless for many years now, as they apparently had the best service around Lakewood.
Recently, I’ve been getting a lot of dropped calls and very weak service in many areas around town. (And it’s not my iPhone.)
I was wondering if anyone else is having these issues?
I’m thinking of changing carriers due to these issues. Perhaps the readers can weigh in as to what the issue is, and perhaps advise me if there are any better carriers for Lakewood.
Thank you.
Shua.

Yes
There’s a lot of dead zones in town. And specifically on the parkway. Call them to complain. They told me they can’t fix the issues at exit 109 on the parkway as there are very few complaints about it
I’m having the same problem.
I’m pretty sure all carriers are having this issue not just verizon
Yes! Can’t use data while on phone.
I have Verizon for years. Don’t have any issues
Yes! Many times in the afternoons I see that my coverage symbol gets low or to nothing and I can’t make or receive calls for a little while. Does anyone know what’s going on? Thanks.
I’ve been having the same issue.
Same here. Lately service sucks.
I recently switched to Tmobile, service is excellent (haven’t dropped a call) and their customer service is unbelievable. They also pay off ur contract if u switch
They became terrible in lakewood
There are some very cheap plans if you’re going to switch to Sprint. Verizon charges much more because their marketing is the best. Sprint advertises “Is the extra 2% in coverage really worth paying that much more”.
Sprint is terrible in some basements.
Verizon has gotten pretty bad lately, but I can still answer calls in some parts of my house. With Sprint, I have always had to leave my house and wait a minute for service to come back.
Yes. Not receiving phone calls
Same here. Recently the service has been horrible. Spotty, slow speeds (yes-while still having data left) etc.
ive been having dropped calls all day. very frusturating
Yes! I thought it was me… my data is very slow and I’m constantly dropping calls
Yes I have been having lots of problems with Verizon recently as well. I just switched to T-Mobile
Everyday my phone calls drop at least 5 times a day. It is really frustrating so I called Verizon and told them that I keep on losing calls. They checked their system and said that no one else called to report issues. I always had Verizon service I am from out of town and Verizon is known to have the best service were I am from. When I moved to lakewood most of my calls were and still are dropping frequently. Maybe we can all call Verizon and report an issue. Maybe then they will be able to do something about it. Thank you Shua this discussion is much appreciated and needed
Verizon service has been terrible lately. You’d think for the money you pay you would get top notch service… guess not. They don’t seem interested in fixing problems. We are switching providers.
It all because some have phones without Hashgacha in the עיר התורה.
What else could it be???
Try posting the same letter. Just change the name of the carrier and you’ll probably get the same posts. Bottom line cell phones are just not as reliable as a landline.
I just called Verizon and told them calls are dropping constantly for many lakewood residents. He said that lakewood doesn’t have a tower nearby so we are experiencing bad connection. They gave me three options 1. Buy a network extender connect it to high speed network cost $240 dollars. 2. Switch service 3. Use WiFi calling need a smartphone for that. so my solution I am going with is number two switching services. Thank you verizon
Wait, are we suposed to blame this on too much building?!!!
No
‘’No it’s marginal coverage area it’s a spotty area.” Said Verizon customer service. The tower is not facing the right direction. With enough people calling it can make a difference. They can start fixing the issue.
My problem is more that they throttle my data at the end of each month even though they claim that on a unlimited plan it’s almost never supposed to slow down unless your in a very high demand area like a packed stadium etc but it’s false advertising because I get slowed down every month the last few days…
Free data only covers 22Gig of highspeed.
You can buy a higher gig plan if you need quick data full month.
Yes! I too have had Verizon for years and am now experiencing weak signals and dropped calls in my home (somerset ave/County line rd area)
Does anyone have an issue with dropped calls when crossing the outerbridge INTO New Jersey?
Yes! I had AT&T for years and never had an issue. Last year I switched due to a great promotion from Verizon. I have more dropped calls a week with Verizon than I had in 3 years with AT&T. The internet is also horrible. I average over 150 calls a day and this problem is not just in Lakewood. My friend also has a big problem with them.
Yes!! Only in the last two weeks. Never had this problem till recently.
To exbrisker.
I have Tmobile for two years and very satisfied.
I have the same problem with ATT lately
T mobile is horrible. Verizon is catching up to them….
Yes!!
Same problem in Cleveland
No problems
I keep losing coverage with T-mobile while in same location. I’m waiting to pay off my phone and then I’m switching to a different company.
I have had massive issues in my office with verizon wireless , we were getting terrible call quality, I called , escalated to level two and I demanded a booster ( it hooks up to home/office wifi and boosts cell signal) they are sending me one for FREE( it costs over $200). They must be realizing they are having serious issues in 08701
You mentioned iPhone. I think that’s the problem. My kosher phone has no issues, and had it for 4 years. Try it. Might have Hatzlochah with the service and other areas! Brocha V’Hatzlocha!
My basic, not smartphone, has horrible service.
T-Mobile told me that they recently upgraded the networks to 4G. So either I can update my phone to a 4G phone (smartphone) or continue to have issues on my 3G phone.
Ive ben having this problem for the last couple months. Its only with the kosher phones, the smartphone doesn’t seem to have the same problem. I spent over an hour on the phone with Verizon. The only way this will get fixed is if everyone calls and bombards them with complaints.
Not true. I have a smartphone (for work) and a dumb phone (for non-work use) and I have been having this issue like crazy recently.
I have a s3 mini verizon talkntech (kosher) phone for about a year and a half and BH service is gr8!
It could be lkwd became like a stadium and it’s slowing down from that
On the phone with Verizon Wireless now. Please call 661 from your phone or 800 922 0204. The more complaints submitted for this zip code, the higher priority it will be.
She said you should ask to file a “remedy ticket”
AT&T sucks just as bad in Lakewood so don’t switch for that reason.
I have had Verizon for many years. Rarely had a problem till I moved to Lakewood. Dropped calls, problems making a phone call, and not receiving text messages. Thinking of switching to different carrier
