TONIGHT: Mass Communal Shloshim Event in Lakewood in Memory of Rav Ahron Leib Shteinman Zatzal (VIDEO)

By: L. Halevi. It’s hard to believe that a month has already elapsed since the passing of a giant amongst giants, the venerable Gadol Hador, Rabeinu Ahron Yehuda Leib Steinman Zatzal.

The loss is still so fresh and stinging; Klal Yisroel has literally been orphaned of a colossal conduit to the Mesorah of generations past as well as a warm and loving leader to  each and every member of Am Yisroel.

Rav Steinman was deeply invested in the success of the Klal at large and expended much time, energy and influence to ensure the spiritual growth of Acheinu Bnei Yisroel in Eretz Yisroel as well as across the globe.

One of his crowning achievements, and a cause that was extremely near and dear to his heart in a very personal way was the network of Torah institutions that he built, cared about and promoted, the “Orchos Torah” network, with Yeshivos, schools and Kollelim across the breadth of Eretz Yisroel.

In commemoration of the Shloshim since the passing of the Gadol Hador, a fitting communal Hesped has been arranged  which will feature Hespedim by a group of Roshei Yeshiva, who  had personal connections with Rav Steinman Zatzal and  who continue his legacy of transmitting our holy Mesorah to the next generations.

The Maspidim will include Rav Shmuel Kamenetsky, Rosh Yeshiva od the Philadelphia Yeshiva; Rav Yitzchok Sorotzkin, Rosh yeshivas Telz and Lakewood Mesivta; the Roshei Yeshiva of Beis Medrash Govoah, Rav Malkiel Kotler and Rav Yeruchom Olshin; and special guests from Eretz Yisroel, Rav Eliezer Yehuda Finkel, Rosh Yeshivas Mir Yerushalayim and Rav Chizkiyahu Mishkovsky, close Talmid of Rav Steimna and Mashgiach of the Orchos Torah Yeshiva in Bnei Brak.

The powerful line-up of speakers are sure to deliver stirring Hespedim and the entire community is urged to join the Roshei Yeshiva, Rabbanim and Askanim of the city in attending this historic display of Kavod Hatorah.

The large Asifa will take place this Sunday, January 14th at  Ateres Chana Hall (Bais Faiga) on Cortney Road in Lakewood.  The program will begin precisely at 9:00 pm with Maariv, immediately followed by the Hespedim.

May the memory of the great Tzadik, who is surely continuing his advocacy for Klal Yisroel from his exalted place in Gan Eden, serve as a source of Bracha for the entire Lakewood community and for all of Klal Yisroel.
