Senator Robert W. Singer, Assemblyman Sean T. Kean and Assemblyman Edward H. Thomson (Legislative District 30) announced $3.9 million in awards for local road improvement projects from the New Jersey Transportation Trust Fund (TTF).
“The grant funding provided by the Transportation Trust Fund will greatly improve road conditions on vital corridors throughout our district,” said Singer. “Most importantly, our towns will not have to increase taxes in order to raise the required revenue if they were to fund them independently. Improved road conditions with little impact on local governments’ budgets is a win-win outcome for 30th District Taxpayers.”
The legislators said towns in the 30th Legislative District will receive the following grants from the TTF for infrastructure projects:
Belmar – Various Streets: $350,000
Bradley Beach – Ocean Park Avenue, Phase 1 : $270,000
Brielle – Union Lane: $315,000
Farmingdale – Main Street Improvements, Phase 4 (County Road 524): $300,000
Howell – Cranberry Road: $350,000
Manasquan – East Main Street Improvements: $350,000
Spring Lake – 5th Avenue, Phase 1: $359,640
Wall – Ramshorn Drive Improvements: $350,000
Lakewood – Clifton Avenue Improvements: $923,625
Point Pleasant Borough – Rue Mirador Road Reconstruction: $425,000
“This valuable grant funding from the newly restored TTF will provide our residents and businesses with reliable roads to safely travel throughout our pristine shore towns and vibrant communities. With the grants provided by the state’s TTF, municipalities will not have to bear the expense of these projects, helping them to hold the line on property taxes and provide our residents with meaningful relief.” Kean added.
“Maintaining roads and other infrastructure is a vital component of preserving our quality of life and economic well-being,” said Thomson. “This funding will allow our towns to embark on much needed road improvement projects without adding to the burden of the local property taxpayers.”
