DOCUMENTS: Did a Jackson resident make a false police report against a Jewish bus driver to incite hate? [UPDATED – AN INTERESTING TWIST]

TLS this afternoon obtained the Jackson Police report regarding the school bus incident.

The report stated, “multiple residents complaining about a school bus speeding down Villanova and swerving at residents as they yelled for the driver to slow down.”

But what the report fails to mention, is the evidence the dashcam proved – which was that a man was standing in the roadway, forcing the bus to swerve around him.

According to the dashcam footage, the driver in fact swerved AWAY from a resident, and not AT residents – as the police report stated – unless you’re counting the person with the video camera hiding behind a tree.

Should the evidence result in charges against the caller and perpetrators – such as impeding traffic? putting children’s lives at risk? Lying to police?

UPDATE: In an interesting twist, take a look at the name of the police officer who issued this report – his name is Michael Basso.

According to public records, a man with that name resides on the very same block the incident occurred. Was this the police officer who appears to have arrived a minute after the dispatch time? Did the police officer know what was happening here?

These are some of the questions being asked.

Developing.

  1. Did a Jackson resident make a false police report against a Jewish bus driver to incite hate?
    Yes.
Creating hatred is a terrible thing to do. I hope those involved are held accountable to the fullest extent of the law.
What a disgrace to the Jackson community.

  2. He wouldn’t go to jail for a false police report if not for the fact that the Bus “happened” to have a Dash Cam. Recently, I got one too at CSO Radio. Imagine how much $ and pain (moderated) saved themselves by being able to prove these clowns as LIARS?

  3. Enough of the hatred, the bigotry and the police complicity. Take the dashcam videos to the DOJ, sue these racists for endangering a busload of school children. Make these antisemites and their accomplices’ lives even more miserable than their ignorant hatred has made them by making them pay for their harassment, Then watch how fast these vermin crawl back into the woodwork they came out of. There are laws against discrimination in this country, there are laws against hate crimes!

  4. It is imperative that this be investigated immediately. This was a blood libel set up to incite anti-Semitism. We cannot ignore it. How far will it take us who knows, but one thing is for certain, someone intentionally framed a Jewish bus driver for one reason and one reason only; because he was Jewish. Let’s get to the bottom of this horrible story.

  5. Agudah -where are you.
this is what HATERS do after they LOSE on the ERUV.

they find a new way to GET THE BAD JEW.

these sickening games have no place in society.

  6. When Howell police needed help catching some bad guys in Lakewood the other day – who did they turn to? yup THE SCOOP…

When Lakewood Police need help – they have communal organizations and people on the local level that assist them.

when we need help they should be stepping up to help get this sorted out. Jackson police should be ashamed to have a member colluding with known bad guys… to do ugly stuff like this.

  7. Premeditated collusion of a police officer acting in his official capacity with a civilian neighbor (without a formal written complaint nor officially authorized to pursue any complaint) but to incite hatred against and unconstitutionally harass a federally protected group, endanger children, reckless endangerment by obstruction of a public thoroughfare, willfull violation of pedestrian laws and promotion of racism and hatred on social media. For starters. Sue and let them go broke from legal fees. If the Jackson PD uses taxpayer money to defend Basso they are an accessory after the fact and just as guilty. Basso must never work as a police officer ever again for abusing his position.

    • sincerely hope your not really a cop because even if your right and he did nothing wrong your comment is evidence to target ppl for tickets solely for revenge

  8. I am neighbor of the police officer who is a really nice guy. It makes sense that he would show up to a call as he lives right here. It is unjust to associate all of Jackson with those who are unfriendly to Jews as we have many neighbors who are friendly and have even come to our house to help us on Shabbos.

  9. Basso graduated exactly two years ago…. Look how he parked to clock the school bus, he blocked half the side street. He was waiting for the bus, Get him off the force !!!

  10. I’d like to thank TLS for bringing all of this to light on a daily basis. There are residents who are Jewish and non Jewish who have their basic rights violated on a daily basis but either are too afraid to come step forward or if they do nothing is done about it. It’s time that people are held accountable (Including Law Enforcement). People should know that if for whatever reason they can not control their hatred and as a result they act out, they will be exposed and held accountable!

  11. Sometimes I’m embarrassed for my fellow Goyish in Jackson. This is beyond disgusting.

I hope this Baker is cooked for what he did.

    A Goyish in Jackson.

  12. I personally know the driver for 20 years & he is a real eidelle tzadik, very cautious driver, & would never hurt a fly. I am willing to testify to this in court under oath. The editor may provide my contact information.

  13. Seems this officer bears investigating I’ll bet the chiefs looking into it right now. Seems to be fairminded… we certainly should be asking questions until the sequence of events snd timeline are transparent for all to see.

  14. I really don’t understand the whole story over here, obviously this ticket shall be dismissed as for the fact that the ticket is dated for the 15th at 15:10-15:33, while on the notes the officer writes that the neighbors complained on the 14th at 15:25, so how can any officer give a summons for something he didn’t see accur? And when was the police actually called on the 14th or on the 15th?

  15. You need to read the top of the document. This document is a incident report of what occurred the day prior, and this is not the actual ticket given by the police to the bus driver.

It is illegal to scream fire in a crowded area, because you will cause people to get hurt. Basically that is incitement to cause people to run and possibly cause injuries. I don’t see how this person standing in the street and doctoring this video to insight hatred and violence against Jews. I would say that not just his intentions were to cause a backlash, it is against a specific group of people that elevates this to a hate crime. These charges should be seriously considered for this instigator by the AG, I’m not so certain that the local prosecutor in Jackson will be taking this on. In addition this guy was also endangering the lives of minors, by purposefully making the bus swerve out of the way of hitting him.
Law enforcement even in Jackson are not entitled to start a ticket blitz on Jews. Firstly I don’t think that it’s legal to retaliate against a group of people. Secondly if you are targeting Jews with tickets, isn’t that illegal to target a group of people based on their religious beliefs? I believe that you are violating their constitutional rights for driving while being Jewish and you are basically violating their constitutional rights of freedom of religion. Basically Mr. Policeman you are saying that if you are Jewish, me the policeman is going to impose a tariff only on the Jews who are entering “my town”. Aren’t you violating your oath as an independent officer to uphold and protect the constitution and the citizens of this great nation, whether they are Jewish, white, Hispanic, or even Muslim. I think that internal affairs of the Jackson PD need to investigate this bold and illegal announcement, to make sure that this individual claiming to be a an officer of the law is not out there breaking the law, and violating people’s civil rights.

  16. I would like to take this opportunity to thank the bus drive. He is a really safe, kind hearted fellow. As my son says ” he even looks like a tzaddik. Thank you! Thank you!

  17. The US Department of Justice and the New Jersey Attorney General have announced investigations of the conduct of some Jackson elected officials over policies that may have been designed to hamper Jews’ ability to worship according to their religious beliefs. Therefore, there are already investigations established and underway by organizations with criminal and civil rights enforcement power. I would suggest sharing details of this and other similar incidents targeting Jackson’s Jews with the people at DOJ and NJAG leading those investigations. Name names; share screenshots; send links to posts/comments on social media and the APP’s web site, etc. It will be very easy to establish an organized pattern of consistent hateful behavior by a vocal active group within the township. They self identify and publicly share their inciteful actions. We all know their names… All you have to do is check the Strong and Watchdog pages… such information could support a legal cause of action by both the State and Federal governments. This would be more powerful than complaining to the Jackson PD or the Ocean Cty prosecutor. Shabbat shalom.

  18. Do you guys really think Jackson PD would hammer tickets?!? Lighten up. Obviously it’s probably someone that is looking to stir the pot up.

  19. Also if you break the law and are ticketed no matter race religion or gender etc and receive a ticket how is that violating civil rights I’m confused
