[Submitted] A new Gemach servicing Lakewood, Toms River and Jackson, will come to your door to pick up used clothing.
The Pick-Up Gemach was started out of need for a Gemach for stylish, good condition used-clothing, clothing for Bnei Torah, who are happy to buy used clothing but have a hard time sifting through much of it to find something that’s high quality, respectable and current.
It’s simple – here’s how it works.
1) Put your current, lightly used clothing in a garbage bag, sealed tightly (to protect from the elements)
2) Clearly label it “Gemach”
3) Place on porch (or other specified location) and text 848-525-6961 with your address
It will be picked up within the next 24-48 hours by one of our volunteers.
There is no charge for pick-ups and we NEVER charge the recipient families for the clothing.
Please don’t give us clothing you wouldn’t wear yourself/put on your children…Thank you for your understanding and Tizku L’mitzvos!
There’s a great need for clothing gemachs that doesn’t charge. Families that go to a gemach very often can not even afford the $2 to buy a piece of clothing and that’s why they are at the gemach in the first place.

This may be legit; but there have been other instances where used clothing ostensible for distributin, was collected for recycling and personal profit
