PHOTO: Wired device in commercial Lakewood bathroom prompts call to bomb squad

The bomb squad was called to a Lakewood business this morning after the owner noticed a suspicious-looking device with wires coming out of it, placed next to a toilet.

Upon noticing the device, the business owner immediately phoned police, who in turn evacuated the area and called for the bomb squad and K9 unit.

But before the investigators arrived, it was determined a tenant in the building whose company does water testing had placed the device there, without notifying the proper personnel.

Police said they take these matters very seriously.

  1. Forget about notifying the management, if this was a public bathroom, would you feel comfortable using it if there were wires taped to the wall?
