PHOTOS: Driver flips vehicle in attempt to avoid striking dog; Dog killed

A vehicle overturned in Lakewood this morning when the driver attempted to avoid striking a dog crossing in front of him.Officials tell TLS the driver spotted the dog Crossing New Hampshire Avenue at approximately 9:45 this morning near the intersection of Oak Street, and swerved his vehicle to try to avoid hitting it. The driver ended up striking the dog, and his vehicle flipped as he swerved.

The driver was luckily not injured in the accident, but the dog died at the scene.

  2. The driver went for a roller coaster ride, I saw him walk away with out a scratch, LPD, EMS, LFA and Hatzolah were there in minutes, thank you!

Never swerve unless 100% possible… a car driving at 40 miles per hour will Almost 100% of the time flip over if you swerve rapidly, I know it’s human reaction to Swerve but that is the worst thing you can do to yourself. Worse comes to worst you damage your car but you save yourself. I’m talking from personal experience. Just ask the cops will tell you the same thing
