The Jackson Township tonght appointed eight Chaplains within the Town – four whom are Jewish. The chaplains, from various faiths, will serve as liaisons between the Township/Police Department and the community.
The four Jewish chaplains are Rabbi Israel Burstyn, Rabbi Yaakov Wenger, Rabbi Naparznek and Rabbi Mordechai Burnstein.
The positions were announced by the Mayor this evening during the Township meeting.

MORDY BURNSTEIN!!!!! steping up to the plate once again!! thank you so much for all your continuous hard work!!!
I’m curious as to why a town needs chaplains? I know its common to have a chaplain for LE officers or fire depts but why for a town?
1) The article states Township/police Department. 2) A Chaplain is crucial to have when dealing with Township related issues as well. Whether it be Holiday’s, Eruv, Sanitation, Building/Permits it always good for the Township to have a Chaplain to go to for questions, answers and assistants. In addition to that there are many Township employees who can benefit from a Chaplain such as a death in the family or simply going through a hard time. This applies to Jews and non Jews alike. I hope I was able to answer you question.
Wow Mordechai! You’re officially an Askan! When you come to Cleveland next you can hang out with all the Askanim LOL (if you have time)!
mordy is this a stepping stone for township committee???
