A water supply issue in the Master Plan prompted a meeting between the Township officials and the DEP (Department of Environmental Protections).
The issue, stating the Plan didn’t show adequate water supply, prompted the DEP to temporarily deny the plan.
“We met with the DEP last week to discuss this,” Mayor Coles tells TLS. “The reason for denial was an incomplete water needs projection, not a flaw with the plan itself.”
Coles added, “The commissioner went so far as to say she saw no reason the denial could not be reversed as soon as the finalized report is delivered.”
The Master Plan, which passed in December of 2017, sets the rules and plans for the Township’s growth for the next 10 years.
T&M, the company who produced the plan, is working with DEP officials to rectify the issue, Coles said.
T&M should have known about this. This is supposed to be their area of expertise. I hope we are not paying for this additional time spent with the DEP and for updates to the plan.
What a shame! I was hoping this would be our savior from the master plan
Change everything to R12 single family housing. We need more homes.
Stop to kvetch!!!
“No flaw with the Master Plan”….Does it allow more building, then it has a major flaw…
Stop the building in lakewood and just spread out instead!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
