Never thought salt could be dairy…
O wow ty was actually going shopping now and I got tls tweet ! my kids love it I will stock up .. just wondering if it’s really dairy or dairy equipment
They were always OUD for a long time already. Probably between 3 to 5 years since they switched to pareve
Big Pringles eater
Tell the chuchem to take a pic of the other side. We need to see the ingredient side ALONG with the OU or OUD on the packaging.
I wonder if they’re OU-D because of dairy equipment.
You can ask the OU. They’ll tell you.
The OU, used to have two categories. 1- OUD 2- OUDE. In the last few years even dairy equipment is also labeled OUD.
The OU has not had a DE designation for at least about 20 years, maybe longer.
The dairy status of pringles has been a fight among hashgochos for years, with the ou saying its not dairy. I wonder what changed.
I don’t believe it
I noticed this the other day after we ate pringles after eating meat..I was surprised that there was no kashrus alert about this.
Don’t need to eat everything that’s on the shelves
The OU hasn’t used DE in ages or longer. They are starting to now on soy milk and the like on behalf of the people who need that stuff.
As for this, the OU has said that Pringles is having lots marked OUD now because they (Pringles) don’t want to have to deal with monitoring between Parve and dairy. I believe the labels WILL show a dairy allergen statement as well.
In the meantime, whatever has the OU is PARVE, and whatever has the OUD is dairy (non cholov yisroel).
Consumers are urged to be in touch with Pringles via their website (www.pringles.com) if they would like to register their feelings.
Read the ingredients on the new batches, which say it contains ‘whey’ which is real dairy!!!
The ingresiants say whey which is dairy…. so how could they say its de?
