Lakewood Police Chief Greg Meyer released the following statement today regarding yesterday’s large-scale search.
On behalf of the Lakewood Police Department, I would like to thank all the people who viewed the missing person information and shared it, and those who helped in the active investigation.
If not for our partnership with the Ocean County Prosecutors Office, Ocean County Sheriff’s K9, and our detectives, officers, the Lakewood Fire Department, First Aid, EMS and volunteers from our community, we could not have resolved this in a manner where they were found safe.
And a special thanks to The Lakewood Scoop who worked with law enforcement and made the finding of two missing young girls under unknown circumstances the top priority, and assisting us with getting the word out to thousands of people in a short period of time.
This type of cooperation is what embodies a sense of an entire community coming together for a common goal regardless of religion or race, and for that reason alone, makes this the greatest town in New Jersey.
I would just add we have the greatest Chief ..thank you!
Thank you for your service.
Thank you for your service.
Thank you for your service.
Please tell your cops to give less tickets and more warnings. We can make innocent mistakes on the road, it shouldn’t have to cost the price of bread on the table.
At least reduced the tickets to a non moving violations so insurance doesn’t go up. One mistake can cost so much!!! Just plain wrong.
Lakewood police don’t give out so many tickets. The state police do though!
Thank you Chief Meyer!
Where were the girls all that time? What prompted such a large scale search effort?
