Lakewood residents report suspicious vehicle in developments over Shabbos

Multiple resident s from different neighborhoods have reported to TLS about a suspicious vehicle seen in their developments on Shabbos over the past few weeks.

In the reports we received, residents reported seeing a white vehicle, and the driver stopping in front of homes to take pictures – allegedly of children.

In at least one incident, the driver was approached and claimed he was working for a real estate company, but did not produce any identification.

TLS is advising residents to file a police report at 732-363-0200.

  1. If the details reported are correct it would be difficult to believe that police shouldn’t have been called on Shabbos. Someone should definitely have at the very least walked to a police officer/station and reported this. Anyone who hesitates in situations that threaten life is considered a “shofech domim”.

  2. My new HO insurance sent an appraiser out a few shabbosim ago. He photograhed my townhouse. It can easily be something like that. I would approach him in a non accusatory manner and ask him which co sent him.

  3. @sam, Excellent!! And I am sure you reported it and they will find out if it’s a realtor or other situation. I hope TLS can do a follow up if the person wad legit or not.

  4. Could be real estate, mortgage company, insurance, Mueller spy, paedophile. Bottom line if you see something say something. Sure, ask your Rav if you even think or feel you might be endangered. Could be the advice of the properly trained authoritiee are in effect at all times. Summertime is perv time. Who wants to take the slightest chance with their most valuable posessions, their kids? I’m no Posaik but I put LPD on speed dial. Two clicks, auto dial and zero. In my home and not in public.
