Lakewood’s LRRC joins the OceanFirst Charity Challenge

What does the LRRC do? A lot more than you can imagine. From emergency advocacy to ensure that insurance covers a child’s lifesaving surgery to helping a struggling family avoid a utility shutoff – at the LRRC we stop at nothing to help our clients.

Our numbers are staggering. Every day the LRRC helps well over 100 families. In 2017 alone, over 9,000 families turned to us for assistance. Many of these families required continued assistance, bringing our total encounters to over 30,000.

Now is your chance to help us! The population of Lakewood Township is growing by leaps and bounds and requests for our assistance have increased by 20% in the past year! The LRRC needs your help to cover our growing costs and ensure we can continue to meet the growing needs of the community.

We are excited to take part in the OceanFirst Charity Challenge – a fundraising contest which awards $20,000 to the non-profit which raises the most funds over the next 30 days. All donations made will be used to provide vital services to our clients, and our goal is to raise $100k by June 12th. But we need your help!

Lakewood is counting on us. Can we count on you?

  1. The LRRC helped me apply for health insurance, food stamps and CHS. Each caseworker is knowledgable and efficient. I have only great things to say about the amazing people that work there. They treated me with sensitivity and respect and I didnt feel judged at all. Check them out! They may have some valuable information that will be applicable to you. Hatzlacha!
