REMINDER: Millions of dollars in grants for goods and services for nonpublic Lakewood schools set to expire; Info and links

As earlier reported, millions of dollars in federal and state grants for nonpublic schools are set to expire and be returned to the government, should they not be used.

The grants are for Security, Nursing, Technology, and Textbooks.

The following letter was sent out by the District Superintendent:

Good Afternoon,

I hope this email finds you well!

I have attached to this email, each School’s balances for Nonpublic Security, Technology, Nursing and Textbooks (as of today).

Please review, as ALL funding must be utilized by June 30, 2018 or it will be returned to the State!

The fourth Nonpublic School Security Supplies and Installation Bid will be advertised next week.  It will be the final bid for the 2017-2018 school year.

Those school Administrators that have any questions, or who have not spent ALL of their Nonpublic School Security or Technology funds should contact Jim Trischitta IMMEDIATELY!!

  • Procure security items with state contract vendors; please see website provided below of NJ state contract

  • 10% below state contract: The board of education solicits and receives at least three quotations on materials, supplies or equipment for which a State contract has been issued pursuant to N.J.S.18A:18A-10, and the lowest responsible quotation is at least 10% less than the price the board would be charged for the identical materials, supplies or equipment, in the same quantities, under the State contract.
  • NJ Cooperative Purchasing Commissions.

  • State contracted vendors: Choose a vendor from the State contracted vendor website or NJ Cooperative purchasing commission website with a fixed price per item and installation. (see examples below)

Bidding Process; Based on your security survey submitted, a technology hardware and installation bid is created.
