VIDEO: Love Thy Neighbor: Standing up against hatred, racism and anti-Semitism in Ocean County

Ocean County Prosecutor Joseph D. Coronato and over thirty (30) faith based leaders from every denomination across Ocean County will be calling upon their congregations to “Love Thy Neighbor” by standing up against hatred, racism and anti-Semitism.

The profound “Love Thy Neighbor” message will be echoed and shared across Ocean County from May 25 – 28, 2018, asking all to pray and work for peace in neighborhoods and on social media.

OCPO has received commitments from countless Ocean County faith based leaders to promote this special message of tolerance and love at their many diverse places of worship across Ocean this holiday weekend.

  1. Really a beautiful message. We will be discussing it in our synagogue this week. Thanks to all those that put in the efforts!! We all need to understand each other a little more and that can bring to so much greatness!!

  2. The other day I needed gas to go to a conference in Eatontown and the BP on 9 between Central and Main was on the way. I usually don’t go there because they charge extra for credit (extra credit?). Please fill it up with regular, credit, I have no cash. The attendant (not Jewish but not Caucasian) says but you are not poor and abruptly left to put my card in and start pumping. He came back and said it again, “YOU ARE NOT POOR”. So I showed him inside my wallet that there was no cash. “YOU ARE NOT POOR”. Okay, so now I’m thinking the guy is an anti-semite who thinks all Jews are rich and greedy and is in my face about it. And then…. He says: It doesn’t matter if you are Indian, Hindu, Buddha, Jewish, Muslim, Christian…. If your heart is clean with the ONE GOD, YOU ARE NOT POOR! You are RICH! But if your heart is not clean, you cannot see the TRUTH so you are very poor, no matter how much you have, you are very, very poor! You will hurt yourself and all those around you. But you, my friend, YOU ARE NOT POOR. I asked him if he was Indian and he answered in the positive. And I asked him if he heard of a certain Indian Spiritual Leader who used to lecture with The Chief Rabbi of Israel, Rabbi Meir Lau!!!! He had the biggest smile on his face as he returned my card and receipt. I shook his hand vigorously. I was a bit anxious because I was late, then I reminded myself that Hashem will get me there exactly when I’m supposed to arrive. It was a very relaxed drive, even with all the “poor” people rushing to beat me to the next red light, not to mention the Garden State Speedway. This was worth every extra cent.
