[Public Notice] The Lakewood Board of Education is seeking applications for a vacancy on the Board of Education.The person filling the vacancy will serve until the Board’s Annual Organization meeting in early January 2019.
New Jersey law requires that to be a Board of Education member, a person must: (a) be a citizen and resident of the district and shall have been such for at least one year immediately preceding the appointment; (b) be able to read and write; (c) be registered to vote in the district and not disqualified as a voter; and (d) not been convicted of a disqualifying criminal offense. See, N.J.S.A. 18A:12-1.
Interested candidates should submit a letter of interest in the position and a resume to Kevin Campbell, Interim Business Administrator/Board Secretary, 200 Ramsey Avenue, Lakewood, New Jersey, 08701 by the deadline of 4:00 p.m. on Thursday, June 21, 2018. It is expected that the Board of Education will publicly interview candidates at its monthly meeting on Wednesday, June 27, 2018 and make an appointment that evening.

Please stay off the board! It’s just a magnet for bad press and chillul hashem, the situation is so messed up there is nothing that can be accomplished. Let the PS parents take it over and realize for themselves that as long as the state funding formula is broken then is nothing to do
