VIDEO: Authorities investigating bomb threat at MMCSC; Statement from Medical Center [UPDATED]

Authorities are investigating a possible bomb threat at Monmouth Medical Center Southern Campus in Lakewood this evening, Police told TLS.

Police responded to the hospital around 9PM.

County K-9 unit is responding, along with other departments from Lakewood.

This is the second such threat at the hospital in just weeks.

UPDATE: Detective Captain Greg Staffordsmith tells TLS they did receive a call from male stating that there was a bomb in the hospital. There are no evacuations taking place at this time, but a sweep of the hospital is being conducted, Staffordsmith says.

UPDATE: Monmouth Medical Center provided TLS with the following statement:

”The Monmouth Medical Center, Southern Campus leadership team is working closely with the Lakewood Police at this time and taking all necessary precautions. As always, we are committed to the safety of our patients, staff, physicians and community members.“

UPDATE: 11:45 PM: “Following a thorough investigation by the Lakewood Police, the bomb threat to Monmouth Medical Center Southern Campus has been cleared,” the hospital said. “Hospital leadership is grateful for the support and dedication of the Lakewood Police Department and Canine Unit.”

  1. you’d be surprised, Hopefully that person is caught very soon, And severely punished. The policemen and policewomen that came to the hospital might have been needed somewhere else .   2. Just how thorough can a search for a bomb be in a hospital?

    I thought everything is traceable. How come this caller knows how to not get caught?

    • @TheStory says, Yes Technically speaking everything is traceable some times the scammer can implement certain measures to try to hide his location. But If this guy keeps it up he is guaranteed to get caught as was the case with the JCC bomb threat guy who was living in Israel.

  3. Burner phone. Self-neglected time bomb nut cases all around. Unpredictable. False Flag to tie up Police response while committing crimes at other locations? This one is particularly sick and needs the ER at OC Jail. Difficult.
