The Early Childhood Learning Center on Linden Avenue is a unique Lakewood public school campus. The campus caters to young preschool age students and offers an array of top caliber professional services for children with special needs. A diverse faculty caters to a diverse student body, helping these young students build a solid foundation for future academic, social and emotional success.
As the 2017-18 school year drew to a close, faculty members at each Lakewood public school were once again asked to vote for their choice of “Teacher of the Year.” The winners chosen by each school were then presented to a district-wide committee for a final vote.
The committee selected Mrs. Deena Glassenberg, the special-ed teacher of a diverse class at the Linden Avenue campus, as Lakewood’s “Teacher of the Year” for the entire school district. Mrs. Glassenberg is a Lakewood mother whose husband is a student at BMG. Though she is unassuming and avoids the spotlight, her dedication to students and her professionalism have earned her accolades from parents and fellow faculty members alike – ultimately leading to this honor.
“The Teacher of the Year requires a lot of hard work, sacrifice and commitment and Deena Glassenberg has all those qualities,” said School District Superintendent Ms. Laura Winters.”
“Lakewood is blessed to have countless passionate professional educators in our midst who dedicate their lives and talents towards all children in our town,” says Mrs. Chanie Jacobowitz, Director of Government Affairs for BMG, who served as a member of Governor Murphy’s Education Transition Team. “We would like to congratulate Mrs. Glassenberg on this well deserved honor.”

We wish a heartfelt congratulations on a well deserved honor. My daughter was lucky enough to be a student in Ms.Deenas room. She is one of the most unassuming and humble individuals I’ve met…..but oh so mega talented.She sets the bar high for each of her individual beloved charges and then she leaves no stone unturned until they meet or exceed each goal.Bring a part of her class is an experience of a lifetime and the gifts she gives her students will last a lifetime.Thank You Deena and thank you LECC for creating the perfect setting for Deena to work her magic.
