An alleged shoplifter led police on a foot chase in Lakewood this afternoon, police say.
The man fled from a police offerer who attempted to question him regarding an alleged shoplifting incident that occurred in the area of Clifton Avenue and 4th Street, police said.
Officers gave chase on foot and caught up with the suspect on 6th Street – where he was taken down by officers and taken into custody.
The suspect was arrested on an obstruction charge, and the shoplifting charge is pending, police said.
Looks like a sad sack wearing “felony flyers” that failed mid-flight. Is that thing (a watch?) the officer is holding, the goods? Guess he’ll get his time another way!
Petty theft, no jail time.
Great job LPD keep up the great work!!!!!!
what did he take?
I saw one officer chase the man alone so I stopped my car in middle of 6th and gave Pursuit with officer while we jumped him and held him down until he put him in cuffs……….
The man almost punched me in the face……
After giving chase with the police officer I got to realize first hand what our brave police officers do on a daily basis to keep us safe.
Kudos to the LPD and all the men in uniform.
Thank you for your service!
what he took is not important; that he took is important. a cop and a civilian took him down? good. everyone knows whose we’re on
