Should the Township add more “No left Turns” between certain hours to alleviate traffic?

“No left turns” help alleviate traffic at busy intersections.

Over the past few years, the Township has added several of them around town.

Should the Township add more of them around town? If yes, where?

  1. Stop finding alternatives! Just build normal size roads for the towns population and we won’t have to come up with stupid ideas. Does anyone know how annoying that no left turn is on 1st and Madison (Or anywhere) for no reason???????

  2. yes definitely, coming out of streets/ cut de sacs onto major thoroughfares and thru streets, Ex, C L rd, Rt9, Pine Street, Chestnut, Cedarbridge especially large 4 lane roads and that also includes school buses and trucks and vans. Thanks

  3. They should first enforce the ones we have already. Every day while driving to & from Yeshiva I see people ignoring these signs. It’s very frustrating

  4. No, the township should make left turning lanes at these intersections. Really frustrating to miss a light because the car ahead of me is making a left turn and doesn’t move over enough to allow other cars to pass.

  5. They should open up more roads. “Through roads.” And stop building.
Stop putting Band-Aids on all the problems that’s get to the root of them.

  6. 1. Enforce driving laws. Ticketing and suspension of lisences.use the cameras which are on most traffic lights and go after those who break the law.
2.more left hand turn signals needed in busy intersections. Drivers try to jump the lights.
    3. And most importantly, OBEY THE LAWS! It has become a nightmare and a dangerous one at that driving in and around town .

  7. It can take 45 minutes for a 10 min disrance during some hours. I believe the traffic violations occur because of:
    1. Aggressive and/or “creative” efforts to get through traffic
    2. Distracted/mindless driving – cell phones and/or hectic schedules
    3. Ignorance of, or carelessness of, laws – e.g. 4 way stops, 2 way stops; turn signals. (Although some turn signal problems occur because people are undecided on which route to take for least traffic)

  8. Put a stop on all construction in Lakewood. Not no left turns.the cause of all the traffic is the building, we wouldn’t have to deal with left turns if construction was limited.

  9. I think the only answer to River Avenue and spruce street Is a traffic light. If your on spruce and want to make a right turn the traffic on route 9 is horrendous. There will be many cars building up on route 9 northbound. Yes people should be able to make a left turn on route 9 from spruce. Just need the traffic light.

  10. Lights always works better and that’s what they should install. These no left turns is very confusing and not clearly to understand. Myself, I don’t know and understand these signs including many other people especially the newcomers from Brooklyn.

  11. No! They should put a moratorium on Lakewood asap! Everyone, literally everyone in the entire city will be happy and benefit. The only people who will lose out are the developers and builders. 99.5% of the town will then not have to suffer ‘more’ then they are now. It makes absolutely no sense why building is still allowed.

  12. The very selfish people that don’t care about the 30 people waiting behind them even though it takes a lot longer to make a left then a right they let everybody behind them wait for them to make their left at least if they make a left they should leave room on the right for a car to pass on the right

  13. The problem with no left turns on 9 and Spruce is how do people from there get on to 9 south if they can’t make a left? It’s not like by Madison and the numbered streets where the streets are in a grid and you can easily figure things out.

Which is why more thru streets are needed.
