Sunset is the only way to get from James to Central and vice-versa. Fact of life. Infrastructure always needs attention. There is no better time. Once this type of complex repair takes place it cannot be interrupted. If you use your intelligence you can figure out another way to head south or north and lose maybe 2-4 minutes after you figure out how to get to James and bear the few minutes wait. And please show consideration for the Bais Yaacov girls trying to cross (15 seconds). It’s a state law BTW. I would like to help you out more but I’m not interested in creating more problems than necessary. Really, think about it, use your GPS, be creative.

I drive down Route 9 daily. The traffic is insanity. I thought of an idea which will probably never happen but I gotta bring it up. How about a 2 lane road going as a second tier across the entire Route 9. It can have an entrance near Route 70 as well as in Howell with 1 more stop on Madison and 9th or near the lake. This will alleviate all through traffic to just go straight through all the traffic. It will make getting across town a breeze. Obviously will take years to get approvals and will cost tens of millions of dollars but I dont see any other way out.

    • Just saying.. says:

WOW! We don’t have room to put extra lanes on RT9 where do you think you will put the supports for the raised roadway, on the sidewalks, on private property?
People scream now anytime the State tries to do repairs on RT9 because it disrupts traffic flow. What do you think the traffic chaos will be like as they construct stanchions to hold up the elevated roadway. How dark will RT9 be when the roadway is completed.
In short it is a bad idea.

  • Exbrisker says:

How about making a tunnel under rt. 9. Forget it, developers will build homes underground…

  • Messed up says:

We need educated people doing urban development.
Guys out of Yeshiva should not
    Be deciding on infrastructure.
