R’ Paysach Krohn was guest speaker at Kollel Zichron Aryeh’s inaugural evening of support last week in Lakewood.
The event, which took place at the home of Yissochar Dunoff, marked the official naming of the Kollel after R’ Aryeh Leib Boruch ben Mordechai Dunoff Z”L.
This vibrant night Kollel was started three years ago and is comprised of a group of dedicated and serious yungeleit, with a strong focus on learning the sugyos down to Halacha L’maaseh. In addition, there is a structured Chazara and Bechina program in place to ensure that the learning is retained. The Kollel is headed by Reb Eytan Aviv.
“Not only is this night Kollel a serious Night Seder for it’s group of yungerleit, but it has also impacted the entire Chestnut community in a profound way,” says R’ Yissochar. “The night Kollel brings a tremendous atmosphere into the shul each night creating a Ruach of a Bais Medrash not just for the Kollel, but for others in the Chestnut and surrounding communities looking for a beautiful place to learn at night.”
He added, “The Night Kollel brings a sense of Shmira to the community and to thse supporting it. You can have a part in partnering with us to support this outstanding Kollel.”

I remember Dr. Dunoff from NE Philadelphia. He was an eye doctor who took a leadership role in the Jewish community. He was in charge of many organizations that benefited the local children including Motzei Shabbos Pirchei and Shabbos afternoon groups as well as many other community positions such as president of the shul and much more. I have a vivid picture in my mind of his davening in shul with deep kavana surrounded by his sons and son in law.
He was famous in his field for his expertise and was loved by his clientele for his fantastic bedside manner.
May this kollel be a zechus for the neshama of this special man/
