Burning wires knock out power to hundreds in Lakewood on Erev Shabbos

Hundreds in Lakewood are without power this afternoon after wires caught fire.

As reported on our news alerts, wires caught fire in the area of Forest Park on Pine Street, forcing the area to be shut.

The fire was reportedly on primary lines and knocked out power to the Forest Park developments.

According to JCP&L, over 400 are without power.

JCP&L says power is expected to be restored by 7:30PM, but Askonim are working on expediting the restoration.

  1. There is a traffic light on Veteran Hy. ( 528 ) and Cross St. When I am on Cross Street and Veteran Hy; the traffic light takes very long to change. I beleaved it all most 5 minutes. While waiting for the light to turn green on Cross street, there are times when there is no traffic on Veteran Hy. either direction. I feel like making a left on red. Can you have the timer change to 2 to 3 minutes for the traffic light ?? This will improve traffic flow on Cross St.
