Over 100 homes in Brick remain shut after flood forces evacuation; Police step up patrol

Brick residents forced out of their homes yesterday due to flooding are still unable to return to their homes, police said today.

“Currently, approximately 105 homes are affected and need to be inspected by Township officials before they can return,” police said.

A meeting is scheduled for noon at the clubhouse.

“Residents should not return to their homes without an escort for safety reasons,” police said. “The Police Department has stepped up security patrols in the area.”

  1. I didn’t realize that there was so much “over building” in Brick to cause such floods.
Well, I guess that theory doesn’t “hold much water”!

    • askana – EIGHTH inches of rain fell in under 4 hrs!!! this is more than we get in one or two typical summer months. this is an extremely unusual weather event! In Lakewood, roads flood from typical and normal heavy summer downpours and storms!

  2. Brick has never flood d like this, Lakewood floods all the time most likely because of poor town management with the building. Asanka you need a reality check lol
