All coin machines will be removed from the mainline barrier toll plazas along the Garden State Parkway.
They will remain in use on entrance and exit ramps.
The work to remove the machines and convert the coin lanes to Full Service or E-ZPass Only is scheduled to begin during the week of Sept. 24th.
The machines are nearing the end of their useful lives and have become expensive and difficult to maintain. Original manufacturer’s parts are no longer available, and parts from third-party vendors are becoming scarce. Parts removed from the machines at the barrier plazas will be used to extend the useful lives of the machines on the entrance and exit ramps.
Just get ezpass
Uhhh, not everyone that drives through NJ lives in the vicinity. Do you have a Sunpass for driving in the state of Florida?
I will still be a holdout against EZpass. Now they charge $1.00 a month for the dubious privilege of having EZpass. (with the exact change lanes there usually isn’t a wait on line to pay tolls, with cash there is. They’re trying to get everyone to succumb to EZpass.
I’ll miss my free tolls
#yeshivalife #finding quarters on the floor #ezpass:(
it will be a pain when you make a wrong turn and end up on the highway in your car that doesn’t have an ez pass
